If you've changed to larger tires without changing the axle's gears, then this is the answer for restoring your Toyota's performance and to gain back the lost power. In addition, you'll get the crawl capability you seek on the trail.
This ring and pinion set from Trail Gear is a 4.88 ratio in a high pinion or reverse rotation version. It fits third members specifically designed for this gear set. Standard rotation housings will not work. This housing is available new or is found in FJ80 front axles. This ratio is recommended for tires up to 33″.
For a high performance and high reliability setup, install it with the differential setup kit and a solid spacer.
